“Sandra”, a corporate lawyer, had been losing weight after a painful divorce.

She’d  become desperately concerned about her children’s after-school sports activities, and she sipped water or chewed food a certain amount of times on the left side of her mouth in order to prevent “something bad” happening to them.

Despite a lifelong apprehension toward prescribed medication, Sandra was using sleeping pills to stop these thoughts long enough to sleep.

Things came to a head when the children told their grandmother that they were being encouraged to scrub shoes, take a shower, and change clothes on arriving home from school.   Taking seriously a well-intentioned threat to go to the authorities, Sandra felt both betrayed and exposed by her children.

Within weeks, Sandra was able to address nearly all her thoughts and actions.  Later modules of the programme proved more difficult, and many additional weeks of support were requested.

During the course of our work, Sandra was able to gain 8kg in weight and is much closer to her mother, whose life-changing intervention was a turning-point.  The children are overjoyed to “have their Mummy back”.
